Treatment Center If your oncologist prescribes chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or if blood transfusion or blood products are needed, your treatment will usually take place in our Treatment Center, which is located within the UCLA Hematology Oncology office.
Nurses who are certified in hematology-oncology care staff our Treatment Centers. These registered nurses are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to their patients. An oncologist is always immediately available to further assure the highest level of patient care. Medications used in the Treatment Center are prepared in a specialized pharmacy adjacent to the Center.
In planning for your appointment in the Treatment Center, please allow an extra 30 minutes for laboratory results to be reported and for medications to be prepared by the pharmacy. The time needed for your treatment will vary, depending upon the medication(s) prescribed for you. We suggest that patients wear comfortable clothing and that a friend or family member accompany you whenever you receive treatment.
